Systems Administrator

My IT position included numerous roles and responsibilities outside of being a level 2 tech support. One of these was acting as a Systems Administrator. Our workspace was over 90% Windows, therefore almost all our backend was Windows Server, running many administrative services. From this experience, I learned a great deal about server hosting, Windows Administrative Services, conducting hands on training, and writing documentation.

Several servers from my Sandbox project

I was responsible for setting up, maintaining, and writing documentation for our System Center Configuration Manger (SCCM), Windows Server Update Services (WSUS), Internet Information Services (IIS), and our sandbox servers. My sandbox project included setting up decommissioned production servers to teach other student workers about ESXi, vSphere, vSAN, and other virtualization technologies. I was also helping maintain other systems such as DNS/DHCP, Active Directory, Exchange Management, and our Windows Deployment Services (WDS) server. This work led to the creation of my independent server hosting hobby.
